Join a nationally recognized program and play a pivotal role in advancing spinal cord injury (SCI) care across Mid-Missouri and beyond. We are seeking a dedicated physiatrist to serve as Medical Director of our Joint Commission Advanced Accredited SCI Program at Rusk Rehabilitation Hospital while providing comprehensive, lifelong care for individuals with spinal cord injury.
This is an exceptional opportunity to lead an established and growing SCI program within an academic health system committed to innovation, collaboration, and excellence in patient care. As Medical Director, you will help shape program development, enhance quality initiatives, and work alongside a multidisciplinary team dedicated to improving outcomes and quality of life for patients with SCI.
Program highlights include:
- Joint Commission Advanced Accredited Spinal Cord Injury Program at Rusk Rehabilitation Hospital
- Meaningful teaching opportunities within the University of Missouri PM&R Residency Program, including mentorship of 12 residents
- Comprehensive spasticity management services, including neurotoxin injections and intrathecal baclofen therapy
- Strong interdisciplinary partnerships with Orthopedic Surgery, Neurosurgery, and other specialty services
- Access to the MIZZOU Neuro Center, featuring specialized outpatient rehabilitation services, neurologic physical, occupational, and speech therapy, and a dedicated seating clinic
- Collaboration opportunities with PM&R research faculty engaged in grant-funded clinical and translational research
- This position offers the unique combination of clinical leadership, academic involvement, and research collaboration within a supportive environment focused on delivering exceptional rehabilitative care.
Qualifications
- Minimum Qualifications: M.D or D.O. in Physiatry
- Candidates will be evaluated on: The ideal candidate will have subspecialty certification or experience in Spinal Cord Injury Medicine.
