Position Description

GBI has always maintained that our employees are our greatest asset, and we are now seeking to add to our team. We are looking for a Senior Safety Manager to join our team in Wenatchee, WA.
Position Summary
The Senior Safety Manager serves as a key member of GBI's Corporate Safety Department, supporting the development and implementation of our Contractor Controlled Insurance Program (CCIP) with subcontractors and guiding the integration of a strong safety culture across subsidiary companies. This position will partner closely with Regional Safety Professionals, Project Management, Operations, Contracts, Risk Management and Subsidiary leadership to ensure compliance, consistency, and cultural alignment with The Goodfellow Way. The Senior Safety Manager will lead important safety initiatives, provide technical support, and champion programs that protect employees, reduce risk, and foster a proactive, learning-focused environment.
Position Description
Subsidiary Safety Culture Development
- Develop and implement a comprehensive safety integration plan for new subsidiaries, aligning programs with GBI's core values.
- Conduct safety program gap assessments and recommend actionable improvements.
- Deliver training and workshops to promote shared safety ownership.
- Establish and monitor metrics that measure cultural maturity and performance progress.
CCIP Program Leadership
- Serve as the GCIP program liaison for subcontractors across assigned projects and subsidiaries.
- Partner with Safety, Operations, Contracts, and Risk Management to enforce program participation and compliance.
- Act as the subject matter expert on GCIP processes and training.
- Conduct audits and collaborate with Risk Management to analyze loss trends and implement mitigation strategies.
Regulatory Compliance & Risk Mitigation
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations.
- Maintain relationships with regulatory agencies and industry associations.
- Analyze and report safety data to track performance and identify improvement areas.
- Promote technology-driven risk management and reporting practices.
Safety Program Oversight
- Promote cross-functional collaboration between Safety, Operations, Claims, HR, and Legal.
- Support and guide regional safety professionals to maintain consistent safety standards.
- Assist in developing annual goals, training programs, and strategic initiatives.
- Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of safety professionals and operational leaders.

This position offers a salary range of $125,000 to $145,000 annually.

Position Requirements
Required Education, Experience, and Technical Knowledge
- Candidates must have the legal right to work in the US without employer sponsorship.
- Bachelor's degree in occupational health & safety, Environmental Science, or related field.
- 10+ years of progressive safety leadership in heavy civil construction or related high-risk industry
- Extensive knowledge of OSHA, MSHA, DOT, and environmental health & safety regulations
- Proven ability to lead through influence, communicate across all levels of an organization, and earn the trust of field personnel.
- Job Knowledge: Demonstrates a strong understanding of job-related knowledge, skills, and best practices. Possesses or develops specialized expertise, including relevant facts, techniques, and decision-making methods. Applies knowledge of services, policies, and procedures accurately and efficiently to meet essential job functions.
