General Summary
$17.68/hr
On-site
This is a part time position limited to 1,000 hours per year.
Participates in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the Archery recreational program includng set up, maintenance and supervision of equipment. Responds to customer concerns, complaints, and emergencies individually and within large groups of people. Interprets and enforces park and program rules and regulations. Maintains program-related records. Works weekends, evenings, and holidays. Utilizes current countywide and/or department specific software to complete assignments.
Minimum Qualifications
SUPERVISION EXERCISED
May coordinate efforts of volunteers or other lower-level parks staff, but only with input from higher level employees or supervisor.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Participates in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the Archery recreational program.
Interacts with park visitors of all ages.
Provides customer service to the general public.
Maintains program-related records.
Works weekends, evenings, and holidays.
Utilizes current countywide and/or department specific software to complete assignments.
WHEN ASSIGNED TO RECREATION PROGRAMS & EVENTS
Participates in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of recreational programs and events.
Provides safe transportation of mobile recreation equipment and staff to community events throughout Oakland County.
Oversees set up, maintenance and supervision of mobile recreation equipment operation at programs and events.
Provides a high level of customer service to community representatives and responds to inquiries and concerns of the general public while on site at community programs and events.
Enforces rules for safe operation and use of mobile recreation equipment with staff and program participants.
Troubleshoots repairs to mobile recreation equipment as needed, responding to and reporting emergencies and damages that impact community events, customer service or follow up maintenance needs.
Maintains program-related records as needed or requested.
Participates in program evaluations as needed or requested.
Utilizes current countywide and/or department specific software to complete assignments.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Communicates with staff, volunteers, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
Responds to customer concerns, complaints, and emergencies individually and within large groups of people.
ESSENTIAL MENTAL & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to communicate and provide instruction to others.
Ability to interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
Ability to load, unload and set up mobile recreation equipment, materials, and activities.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is performed outdoors with exposure to weather conditions.
Participates in activities that require driving or being a passenger in an automobile

Requirements
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
A. REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
1. Must have at least three (3) months (480 hour or more) full-time experience that may include:
a. Supervising, instructing, coordinating, coaching, caregiving, team leading, and/or organizing programs, activities, teams, or groups of adults and/or children; OR
b. Customer service experience in the hospitality industry, retail or food service; OR
c. Involvement in a leadership capacity with organizations such as civic, philanthropic, school clubs, sports teams, or volunteerism.
Possess a valid motor vehicle operator’s or chauffeur’s license.
