About our client
The Australian Society of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy (ASMIRT) is the peak body representing radiographers, radiation therapists, nuclear medicine technologists, and sonographers. ASMIRT supports these essential healthcare professionals through advocacy, education, and member services, contributing to improved patient care and outcomes.
About the role
As Media and Content Officer, you’ll play a key role in managing ASMIRT’s communication channels and media engagement. Reporting to the Manager, Communications and Government Relations, you’ll oversee proactive and reactive media liaison, website content management, podcast and video editing, and news content for social media, eNews, and events.
This is a hands-on role for a communications professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys creating engaging content while managing relationships with media and external providers.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage proactive and reactive media engagement and act as first point of contact for media
- Update and maintain ASMIRT’s website using WordPress
- Create and edit content for social media, eNews, and Spectrum Magazine magazine
- Edit ASMIRT’s monthly podcast and and occasional member video content
- Collaborate with the Marketing Officer on social media strategies
- Participate in national conferences and events from a media perspective

Requirements
What We Are Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, or related field
- 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role
- Strong skills in media liaison, social media, and website management (WordPress)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to edit podcasts and videos using relevant software
- Experience in healthcare or membership associations (preferred but not essential)
