Performs precision calibration and performance verification of frequency standards and timing systems to national/international traceability standards. Applies advanced technical knowledge to solve complex problems that cannot be resolved by referencing manufacturers' manuals or standard documentation alone (e.g., circuit-level failures, electromagnetic interference/radiation issues, malfunction isolation, and incorporation of engineering changes). Verifies timing systems meet contractual, OEM, and test-range accuracy/stability requirements prior to mission support. Ensures all calibration records, logs, and documentation comply with established procedures and quality standards. Exercises independent judgment in performing circuit analyses, calculating and interpreting waveforms, and tracing signal flow relationships using schematic diagrams and advanced test equipment. Uses complex test instruments including oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, pulse and function generators, frequency synthesizers, digital multimeters, network analyzers, and computer-controlled diagnostic systems.
