$64,087 - $84,916 - $105,744
This position is covered by NERC-CIP cyber security standards. Prior to being hired, promoted or transferred into the position, the candidate must successfully pass a Personnel Risk Assessment, which includes identity verification and a criminal background check. Prior to being granted unescorted access to cyber secure areas, the candidate must attend cyber security training. Annual cyber security training is also required.
SUMMARY:
Responsible for distribution, construction, and maintenance, of an electrical distribution system, warehouse, meter reading, work order writing, drafting, switching procedures, report writing, and transportation. Ensures adherence to all company safety practices and procedures. Responsible for reliability and safety of electrical systems and interfaces with neighboring utilities in order to ensure customer satisfaction.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs construction and maintenance on the distribution electrical system.
Prepares distribution line designs, cost estimates, and coordinates activities to provide new service to meet the needs of residential and commercial customers.
Operates all line construction equipment in accordance with all safety guidelines.
Performs other assigned and related duties such as stores, meter reading.
Coordinates training and safety meetings.
Communicates with customers to resolve complaints, problems, or system related issues.
Handles after-hour customer concerns and outages.

Experience in rubber glove and hot stick live line work.
Basic knowledge of wire stringing and associated equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or GED with five to seven years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience related to the discipline.
Bachelors degree from four-year university or college preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Completion of a four-year apprenticeship program and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must possess a current, legally valid drivers license and meet the company's driving record requirements.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
Working knowledge of MS Excel spreadsheet software and MS Word.
ANALYSIS AND PROBLEM-SOLVING ABILITY:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and/or walk up to 2/3 of the time and sit up to 1/3 of the time. Manual dexterity required. Ability to talk and listen and bend and crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Vision requirements include: color vision, peripheral vision , long and short distance vision.
May be exposed to outdoor weather conditions, moving mechanical parts, heights, and toxic fumes.
Risk of electrical shock.
