Overview
Are you a decisive leader and critical thinker with a proven track record in DoD warehouse operations? DLH is seeking a Deputy Logistics Lead to co-manage our warehouse, a role central to our support for the nation's warfighters. You will be at the heart of our Pre-Installation, Test, and Check-Out (PITCO) team, ensuring all materials and equipment for critical C4I programs and tactical networks, like CANES, are expertly managed, kitted, and ready for fleet installation. We are looking for a skilled communicator to support our Logistics Lead, drive process improvements, and uphold the highest standards of logistical readiness.
Responsibilities
- Reporting to the Logistics Lead, the Deputy Logistics Lead will help oversee all warehouse and inventory management functions.
- Assist in the management of day-to-day warehouse operations, including shipping, receiving, stocking, and order fulfillment for electronic/electrical components.
- Lead, mentor, and delegate tasks to a team of logistics personnel, fostering a culture of safety, accuracy, and efficiency.
- Manage and maintain inventory accuracy using web-based supply systems, conduct regular cycle counts, and perform discrepancy analysis.
- Oversee the ordering, acquisition, and distribution of material, equipment, and resources in support of technical projects.
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and effectively.
- Analyze logistical processes and contribute to financial management tasks related to logistics.
- Ensure the logistics team adheres to all safety protocols, company policies, and DoD contractual requirements.
- Serve as a key point of contact for logistical inquiries, providing clear communication and status updates to leadership and technical teams.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED.
- Serving as a supervisor or warehouse lead at a DoD facility.
- Experience with financial management principles.
- Providing direct logistics support for projects involving electronic/electrical repair and installation, which must include the ordering, acquisition, and distribution of material, equipment, and resources.
- Five (5) years of hands-on experience that includes the following:
- Must possess strong skills in communication, leadership, delegation, and critical thinking.
- Active Secret Clearance walking through the door
Desired:
- Prior military service with a logistics or supply background is highly desired.
- Experience with CMPRO, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), or similar web-based inventory management systems.
- Lean-Six Sigma, Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), or other relevant supply chain certifications.
- Current Forklift Operator certification.
- Current HAZMAT handling and shipping certifications (e.g., DOT, IATA, IMDG).
