- Commercial Manager - Ithaca and Newark NY
Description
Job/Position Summary:
Fathom Manufacturing is seeking a results-oriented Commercial Account Manager to lead customer growth and commercial performance across our Ithaca and Newark, NY facilities. These two strategically located sites serve key manufacturing regions in upstate New York and the Northeast. This role is responsible for managing both territories and ensuring each site grows its customer base, increases capacity utilization, and achieves its financial contribution goals.
This is a high-autonomy, field-oriented commercial role suited for a motivated builder — someone who can own a multi-site territory, unlock new regional opportunities, and influence both top-line growth and site-level EBITDA performance.
Key Responsibilities
Territory Development: Build a robust customer base within a 100-mile radius of both Ithaca and Newark by targeting growth-stage and established industrial, medical, and advanced manufacturing companies.
Capacity Utilization Leadership: Ensure each site operates at or above 80% utilization, working closely with Operations to align pipeline with throughput capabilities.
Cross-Site Expansion: Leverage Fathom's multi-site network to cross-sell services and capabilities across both facilities and into adjacent regions.
Financial Contribution: Own commercial inputs tied to each site's EBITDA goals, including pricing strategy, margin improvement, and account mix optimization.
Executive Reporting: Maintain consistent reporting cadence to the ELT for both sites, covering pipeline velocity, win rates, customer risk/opportunity, and quote activity.
Cross-Functional Execution: Engage with quoting, program management, customer service, and centralized RevOps and marketing teams to ensure seamless sales execution across both locations.
What We're Looking For
Strong background in B2B sales, strategic account management, or commercial territory ownership — ideally in manufacturing or engineered services
Demonstrated ability to manage and grow a multi-location region with varied customer profiles
Comfortable operating independently while maintaining strong collaboration with internal stakeholders
Based in or near upstate New York, with the ability to travel frequently to both Ithaca and Newark
Deep commercial accountability — you understand revenue, margin, and growth mechanics and take ownership of outcomes
Why This Role
This role offers the unique opportunity to own and scale a dual-site territory within a growing national manufacturing platform. You'll have a direct hand in reshaping the commercial trajectory of two high-opportunity facilities and build the foundation for future leadership roles within Fathom's commercial organization.
