What Your Job Will Be Like

Are you passionate about leveraging innovative technologies to enhance security solutions? Do you want to be part of a dynamic team that tackles complex challenges critical to national security? If so, we are looking for a highly motivated individual to join our team as an Information Systems Architect specializing in Identity Access Management (IAM).

On any given day, you may be called on to:

• Apply fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures in information systems architecture and administration to support IT infrastructure.
• Assist in automating workflows using tools such as Ansible, shell scripting, and PowerShell.
• Support the design, configuration, and maintenance of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and Windows Server systems, including patching and security hardening.
• Assist in architecting and maintaining identity and access management solutions such as RSA Authentication Manager, SailPoint IdentityIQ, and Ping Identity.
• Support management of DNS services (BIND and Windows DNS), NAT firewalls, and VMware ESXi clusters.
• Assist in deploying and maintaining virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) and enterprise file sharing/storage solutions.
• Monitor system availability and escalate issues as needed.
• Collaborate with team members and subject matter experts to resolve technical problems.
• Prepare basic technical documentation and reports.
• Explore established procedures and recommend improvements where appropriate.
• Communicate effectively with internal teams and external contacts as required.

Salary Range

$87,400 - $168,800

*Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.

Qualifications We Require

• Bachelor's degree in relevant discipline; or equivalent (AS + 4 years or no degree + 8 years)
• Basic proficiency with automation tools such as Ansible, shell scripting (Bash), and PowerShell.
• Experience with RHEL and Windows Server administration.
• DOE Q security clearance or DOW equivalent required to start

Qualifications We Desire

• Experience (5- 10 years preferred) in systems architecture, system administration, or related IT roles.
• Familiarity with identity and access management platforms (RSA, SailPoint, Ping Identity) is a plus.
• Understanding of virtualization technologies, particularly VMware ESXi.
• Knowledge of DNS (BIND and Windows), NAT firewalls, and network equipment.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with guidance.
• Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
• Willingness to learn and apply new technologies and processes.
• Ability to work independently on routine tasks and seek assistance for unfamiliar challenges.
• Exposure to cloud environments such as Azure and multi-cloud security practices.
• Basic knowledge of security monitoring tools and vulnerability remediation.
• Familiarity with project and workflow tools like JIRA, ServiceNow, or SharePoint.
• Understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DHCP, SSH).

Security Clearance

Position requires a Department of Energy (DOE) Q security clearance to start, or equivalent active security clearance with another U.S. government agency (e.g., DOD). Sandia is required by DOE directive to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications. Applicants for employment need to be able to maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship. NNSA Requirements for MedPEDs
