Voted as “One of the Best Resort Towns in the United States,” the City of Harbor Springs is actively seeking a proven, collaborative leader to serve as their next City Manager.
Located in Emmet County, Harbor Springs is a charming city on the north shore of Little Traverse Bay on Lake Michigan, known for its natural beauty, historic Victorian architecture, and outdoor activities like boating, biking, and hiking. Harbor Springs features a quaint downtown with shops, galleries, and restaurants, and is a popular destination for both year-round residents and seasonal visitors seeking a scenic getaway with a mix of relaxation and adventure.
The City Council is most interested in candidates who have experience in fostering postive community relations and uniting relationships.

Salary:
$140,000 - $150,000

Requirements
The City of Harbor Springs seeks candidates with a general background in municipal administration.
The requirements include experience in building relationships within a municipal environment, understanding of governmental budgeting, a proven record of team building within an organization, outstanding communication skills, a humble mindset, an exemplary record of customer service based local government and a strong appreciation for resort living.
The City prefers candidates who hold a Bachelor's Degree in Public Administration, or a related field. Strong consideration will be given to those candidates who take an active role in municipal organizations such as the Michigan Municipal Executives (MME).
In summary, Harbor Springs is most interested in candidates who serve with collaboration, high energy and seek to build unity with every word, step and action.
