About the opportunity
Join the University of Sydney as the Case Specialist, Student Information and Regulatory Reporting, where you will support student information reporting and data collection initiatives to meet institutional reporting obligations, including for the Tertiary Collection of Student Information (TCSI) – a joint initiative between the Department of Education and Services Australia, designed to modernise and streamline the way tertiary education providers report student and staff data.
The Case Specialist will focus on day-to-day operational casework, including engagement with students (as required) and handling of data records, ensuring prompt resolution and clear documentation. Embedded within the Curriculum and Policy team in the Division of the Academic Registrar and reporting to the Senior Manager, Student Information and Regulatory Reporting, this role plays a pivotal part in supporting the University’s continuous alignment with the TCSI reporting requirements.
The position is responsible for coordinating and resolving TCSI-related data, validating student information, and ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of student reporting. Taking a student-centric approach, this role ensures data discrepancies are investigated and resolved efficiently, maintaining a consistent flow of accurate information for institutional and government reporting.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
- work closely with the Senior Manager, Student Information and Regulatory Reporting
- manage and resolve TCSI cases through accurate data reconciliation, stakeholder liaison, including with students and colleagues across the institution, and alignment with University and Departmental requirements, escalating complex issues and contributing to continuous improvement
- provide accurate and timely data updates to support TCSI submissions and reporting, ensuring data integrity, alignment with governance and privacy standards, and escalation of risks where required
- support system testing, documentation, and workflow improvements by participating in upgrades and maintaining accurate reference materials for TCSI case management.
- provide clear and timely communication on TCSI case progress and reporting, collaborating with internal stakeholders and escalating complex matters to the Senior Manager as required
- maintain confidentiality and data integrity while supporting administrative and record-keeping tasks that underpin accurate data management and reporting.
