The Lake Washington School District Accounting Department is looking for qualified candidates for the position of Accounting Supervisor. This position is based at the district Resource Center in Redmond and reports to the Director of Accounting. This is a full-time, year round position with full benefit package.

Shift: 7:30-4:30pm shift subject to change

Salary: Step 1: $117,089/year ($56.08/hour) Full benefit package available. SC10 Prof Tech Salary Schedule

SUMMARY
The Accounting Supervisor reports to the Director of Accounting in the management of the District Funds and the timely and accurate payment of invoices for goods and services procured by the District. A strong working knowledge is required in the utilization of automated accounting systems with a commensurate ability to supervise staff in its use. Acts in a supporting capacity to the Director of Accounting and assumes managerial responsibilities in their absence.
Requirements
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Ability to demonstrate a strong knowledge of applicable laws and regulations relating to Government Accounting
with a particular emphasis on the Revised Code of Washington (RCW), the Washington Administrative Code
(WAC) and the Accounting Manual for Public School Districts in the State of Washington.
Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and fund accounting.
Knowledge of state and federal accounting rules, practices and financial reporting.
Knowledge of Skyward/Qmlativ preferred
Thorough knowledge of and advanced skill in using MS Excel, Word and Outlook, with an ability to identify
processes related to the position that may benefit through the use of technology
Ability to develop, supervise and evaluate staff.
Ability to detect errors when verifying data.
Ability to multi-task and prioritize work to ensure deadlines are met.
Ability to collaborate with school and central office staff, parents, and community members.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to keep accurate records, input data, and prepare reports.
Ability to work independently with little or no supervision.
EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, finance or related field. Additional professional level
experience may substitute for required education.
Five years of experience in accounting or accounts payable related positions required.
Two years supervisory experience preferred.
Prior public school experience preferred.
