As a Software Engineer on the Data team, you would be tasked with ensuring the day-to-day analytics and reporting activities are delivered on-time and to stakeholder satisfaction.
Job Responsibilities
- Deliver timely, accurate analytics for stakeholders using tools like SQL, Bigdata or Databricks.
- Troubleshoot data issues by tracing data lineage and validating calculations.
- Create clear, actionable visualizations to help executives quickly grasp insights and trends.
- Automate repetitive reporting tasks using scripts, scheduled jobs, or workflow tools.
- Conduct Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA) for Root-Cause Explanations to uncover patterns, anomalies, and relationships in data.
- Use storytelling techniques to make data insights compelling and easy to understand.
- Regularly communicate with stakeholders to clarify requirements and ensure satisfaction.
- Handle ad-hoc requests and pivot quickly as priorities change.
- Maintain clear documentation for all analytics, automation, and troubleshooting activities.
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills
- 6+ years of practical experience in extracting data using SQL/HQL, generating reports and insights, performing data analytics, and creating visualizations to effectively communicate with partners and stakeholders.
- Must be proficient in SQL query writing using any of these: AWS or Databricks Or Oracle/SQL Server/Teradata
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to comprehend business requirements and propose appropriate solutions.
- Exceptional analytical skills.
- Ability to take cues/guidance and solve problems independently. Strong attention to detail with ability to understand and communicate bigger picture.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills
- Experience with Tableau or similar reporting and visualization tools is advantageous.
- Familiarity with Alteryx or other ETL tools is a plus.
